Dip Tips

Mix Watkins Snack & Dip Seasoning with sour cream, light sour cream,
fat free sour cream or yogurt and serve with chips, wheat thins, crackers
and raw vegetables. For a great cheese ball, mix 3 tablespoons with 8
oz. of softened cream cheese. Serve with crackers.

Blazin’ Cajun: Use to add a “kick” to vegetables, soups and stews.
Awesome Spicy Dip!!!

Cucumber & Dill: Sprinkle on cottage cheese or a tossed salad. Great
as a dip and a sandwich spread.

Fiesta: Rich blend of Mexican seasonings.

Garden Vegetable: Best dip ever!!! Like a fresh salad!!!

Garlic & Dill: On a baked potato, or a sandwich spread or sprinkle in
your vegetables when cooking. Great on fish!!

Salsa & Sour Cream: Great topping for tacos or burritos, and a creamy
dressing for taco salad. Great in scrambled eggs!!

Tomato & Horseradish: Great as a sauce for the bloomin’ onion, on
salmon or as a sandwich spread.

Creamy Salad Dressing: Combine ½ cup mayonnaise, 1/3 cup low-fat
milk, 2 tsp. vinegar, and 2-3 tsp (to taste) of any of the following mixes:
Cucumber & Dill, Garden Vegetable, or Garlic & Dill.

Spinach Dip: Add Garden Vegetable mix to your favorite Spinach Dip
recipe. Serve in a hollowed out bread bowl.

Watkins Maple-Butter Syrup

Watkins Maple-Butter Syrup

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 cup water
1 teaspoon Watkins Maple Extract
1/4 teaspoon Watkins Vanilla Extract
1/4 teaspoon Watkins Butter Extract

Mix the first four ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a rolling boil. Cook for one minute. Remove from heat and add Watkins Maple, Vanilla and Butter Extract. Pour into container and store in refrigerator, makes approximately one quart.

Lemon Pie and Lemon Frosting

Watkins Lemon Pie

1/2 cup Lemon Dessert Mix

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

2 1/2 cups water

Combine Lemon Dessert Mix, sugar and 1/2 cup water in saucepan; mix well.  Stir in 2 1/2 cups water. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a full boil and begins to thicken.  Remove from heat, cool slightly then pour into baked pie shell or dessert dishes.  Cool then top with whipped cream or meringue.

Lemon Frosting

2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 cup Watkins Lemon Dessert Mix

1/4 cup butter

1/3 cup cream or half & half

Combine and beat 2 minutes.  Yields 1 1/2 cups frosting.  Spread on cakes, cupcakes and cookies – it makes a delicious dip for vanilla wafers, too!
